Titwala ride #1

I had only a day off so idea of any big plans were already out of window. Nonetheless, I decided to travel somewhere close to my city for a quick gateway. So, I asked my friend; pulled my bag; kicked my bike and started my journey for Titwala. It was an obvious choice because Titwala is hardly one and the half hour drive my place. Titwala is located in the outskirts of Mumbai suburbs, surrounded by serene mountains and pleasing sites.
We started our journey from Mansarowar(My home town in Navi Mumbai), took NH4 highway towards Kalyan. I drived straight for 20-25 mins and came across Shilphata, a four-way facing Mumbai/Thane, Panvel, Kalyan and Mumbra.

I took right from Shilphata and the first thing in our mind was to reach Kalyan railway station, it was straight drive of 30 minutes until a right turn which took us directly to railway station. From there we asked people for the direction of Titwala, they are friendly so they happily led us the way. Its another 20 mins drive on a single road surrounded by lush green environment. Drive until you came across a road sign directing Titwala take left and its just 5 km more.

Titwala is known for its divine 'Siddhvinayak Maha-Ganpati Temple'. Its a popular belief that your wishes are granted in this temple, especially if its related to your married life.

I am not a religious person but my friend is a dedicated follower, so I was forced to pray and also asked to chant few Mantra's. One of the shopkeeper helped us with the parking and intelligently sold us some sweets and praying elements.

After my conscious was cleared I had good look at the view surrounding temple. Adjoining temple there is a small lake for paddle boat, please opt for boat ride in late evening time or when its raining else you will be exhausted by paddling.

This lake is surrounded by walk-way, which gives us the whole 360' view of the temple and its lake. A small De-tour around lake is peaceful and pleasing in shower of rain. There is good sitting arrangements so can stop by for a quick snack or something.

There was a vast landscape of mountains surrounding temple and I had all the intention to climb it, but it was too late for that. Instead we choose our lunch over trekking and postponed this plan for our hopeful next visit.

As we were all set for our return trip a local informed us about nearby Malshej Ghat so we diverted our plan to see this ghat. The drive on this road was amazing, there were mountains and trees surrounded all the way. My partner wanted to drive on this road but his efforts were in vain as I was too busy savoring that moment for me. Halfway through we came to know that the Malshej Ghat is far from reach, we decided to comeback as our materialistic work life was waiting for us. But I must add that the drive worth every bit of it.
